Stock Tithe Companies

This is a list of stock-tithe companies—those whose founders pledged 10% of their stock to worthy causes. It is intended to help these companies gain awareness and support they might not achieve alone.

Why does a stock-tithe make sense? Most successful people give to worthy causes. Great. If you're an entrepreneur and you're going to give, why not do it up front, embed your giving in your company, and thereby enable others to increase the value of what you've given by responding to your good deed with their support of your company? (This assumes, of course, that your company offers a competitive value.) The idea: “When you give, it comes back,” may make even more sense for a company than for an individual.
